Immersive Inductions - Align

At Align, we have created immersive inductions using Augmented Reality (AR) to bring to life AR models and hazard spotting, interactive quizzes and video case studies.

We have designed an innovative, engaging induction for the C1 section of HS2. This was achieved through collaboration with the client and stakeholders, specialist developers, and our dedicated team of facilitators. Align Onboarding uses AR (Augmented Reality) and iPad technology to bring the project to life. We recreated the project’s tunnels, shafts, and viaduct through site displays, AR models, and video case studies.

HS2 wanted inductees to engage and participate in the training. Therefore, the induction experience needed to recognise cultural and language differences, and provision needed to be made for ‘refresher training’ to maintain awareness.

iPads provided AR-generated hazard spotting exercises, and quizzes covering EDI and health and safety. Additionally, it was important to HS2 that the project created a legacy of Health and Safety management that would be a new industry benchmark.

The Align Induction was achieved at a much lower cost compared to live drama-style inductions used on other major infrastructure projects.
