We see news reporters do it everyday but the difficulty for a lay-person speaking to camera should not be under estimated – some people, even very good communicators, can find it a daunting task.
In an interview the interviewee looks across the camera lens to a reporter standing at the side of the camera. But sometimes an individual wants to talk directly to an audience through the camera, for example, a CEO talking to his staff.
News readers use an autocue to be fed what to say and these can be hired but for the amateur it is difficult to come across naturally when reading a script in these conditions. Plenty of time for training and rehearsal needs to be allocated to get it right.
However in our experience people can be trained to ‘ad lib’ to camera off a prepared list of bullet points. White Hart has been helping individuals, from MDs to frontline staff, deliver PTCs for nearly 20 years and we pride ourselves on our ability to train and support them to perform the task.
