Practical Sessions
Exercises are conducted by former Print and radio/TV BBC journalist John Brooks and/or a practicing Media journalist relevant to your location and sector. For clients in Wales we can train in English or Welsh. Sessions include:
- Preparation for specific issues or events: Prepare a spokesperson or a team to respond to an issue or a planned event. We help prepare individuals with answers, strategies so they can respond with authority and confidence.
- Presentation skills: We film individuals making a presentation and analysis the recording with them to develop ways of improving their performance.
- Radio Interviews: Down the line, studio and on-location interviews can all be experienced and analysed individually or in groups.
- TV Interviews: Pre-recorded, Live, with a journalist, in a remote studio we explore all the interview options and develop different strategies to deliver.
- Editing for Radio and TV: Advanced groups experience the way in which journalists edit pre-recorded interviews hence gaining an insight into the delivery of ideal sound-bites.
- Analysis of Media coverage: Contributors and senior management review media coverage of your organisation and look for ways of improving procedures and performance.
- Education: Modules are adapted for talks to media studies students at schools, colleges and universities.
