For the past year White Hart has been filming the upgrade of the Birmingham to London’s Marylebone Station for Chiltern Railways including a fixed camera service with partners Site Eye to record work during weekend concessions. These recordings appeared on their website and were given to local broadcasters.
For the launch of the Mainline Service we produced a ten minute production encapsulating the project. You can view it here
The work prompted the following response from Emma Gascoigne at Chiltern railways.
"I’ve been exceptionally impressed with how White Hart have captured our infrastructure investment through innovative video footage. The final video captures exactly our brief and we’re pleased with this lasting reminder of the biggest private investment in the railways since World War II."
Gas Distributor Wales and West Utilities has commissioned White Hart to produce a training package covering "Streetworks Compliance".
Last year we produced a new corporate video for the company which was sent to all its employees as well as fulfilling a role during inductions and communication activities.
WWU’s Head of Corporate Affairs Jackie Roe was obviously pleased with our work. "Wales & West Utilities has used the services of White Hart Multimedia for a number of years, both in corporate film production and high quality media training. White Hart is thorough, imaginative, enthusiastic and competitive, providing top quality and reliable results. I would not hesitate in recommending White Hart".
Our video recording the re-alignment of the track at Gerrards Cross on Chiltern Railway was "absolutely fantastic" according to Project Director Andy Duggins. "Very much worth all the hard work and numerous inputs. Thanks again."
The video used images from two fixed cameras supplied by our partners Site Eye and our own filming on location.
You can check it out on YouTube. Another version used interviews to explain the work which you can view here. A third version was supplied to the Media for news bulletins.
In order to carry out our on-going work with Chiltern Rail we have put two cameramen through the rail industry’s PTS safety course. Tim Aston and Jon Maguire both passed the end of course examination and can now film trackside on this and other rail jobs.
A few years ago we were extremely active in the rail sector and we hope our work with Chiltern Rail, Atkins, Network Rail and BAM Nuttall will lead to further work.
Hillcrest Slinfold is an Ofsted registered children’s home and school which set White Hart a difficult challenge – represent the work we do with residents and pupils but don’t show any of their faces.
Fortunately we are very experienced filming and interviewing young people with “challenging behaviour” and the result prompted this comment from Hillcrest’s Marketing Officer Kate Dawson, “Wow! That is excellent! You’ve captured everything I hoped you would and it has been put together so well. I am so pleased with it, thank you.”
Stevedoring company WE Dowds asked White Hart to help put them and Newport Docks on the map through a promotional DVD, which has now been dubbed into Chinese Mandarin, Spanish and Portuguese as well as an English version.
Judging by the comments of Chairman Charles Dowds they were pleased with the result. “Had my first look at the DVD today and can I just say that I am very pleased; Very professional and even better than I could have hoped for when we first discussed doing this.”
Health, safety and environmental inductions for construction sites is one of our specialities with new packages created for Laing O’Rourke, at several sites around Wales and the West region, and for Carillion EHV at sites in Norfolk and Lancashire.
We understand the importance of these packages as part of a process to change the behaviour of individuals on site. Laing O’Rourke has recently passed three million man hours without a reportable accident on their Wales and West sites. We are delighted to have paid our part in this remarkable achievement.
White Hart Director Chris Brooks has more than a passing interest in our health and safety induction packages because in her spare time she is the H&S steward for major Equestrian events.
Recently she oversaw the popular Mount Ballan Event held at David Broome’s Equestrian Centre. Her CV also includes Howick and Chepstow International Horse trials.
Her job is to work closely with the organiser and British Eventing Chief Stewart to ensure that all health and safety guidelines and protocols are in place for the dressage, cross country and show jumping phases, including risk assessment and liaison with the emergency services, for this exhilarating but potentially dangerous sport.
Congratulations to James Sommerin, Chef at The Crown at Whitebrook (www.crownatwhitebrook.co.uk), for winning the Welsh heat of BBC2's Great British Menu.
White Hart helped James prepare for filming with two media training sessions run by Director John Brooks.
We are delighted that we were able to help him relax in front of the camera to let his character, expertise and passion for food shine through.
We wish James good luck in the National Final which begins Monday 25th May 2009.
White Hart has moved to larger premises next door to its old office at Upper Glyn Farm. Our contact address, email and phone number remains unchanged.
The new offices have dedicated rooms for production, incorporating our three edit suites, and administration, with plenty of room for expansion. It is a very pleasant and practical space with wonderful views across the valley. As I write I can see Jacob sheep and horses grazing the fields with a buzzard flying overhead.
Work has begun to covert our old office into a training facility to accommodate our increasing workload for communication, presentation and media training.
Wolverhampton City PCT has commissioned White Hart to create a training DVD to cover all mandatory requirements for infection control in their hospitals, health centres and care homes. The video will also cover the work of District Nurses. It’s all part of their drive for zero tolerance towards infection within the Trust.
This is the second commission for White Hart in this specialist area following our successful production for Somerset PCT in 2008.
A major redevelopment at a defence establishment in the West Country is the latest Laing O’Rourke project to commission a site induction from White Hart. The communication package, which will be updated during the project to keep it concurrent, includes important health, safety and environment messages and instructions as well as welfare information. On completion White Hart will produce a case study on the project.
In addition White Hart will produce a series of videos to chart construction progress and highlight forthcoming work. On completion White Hart will produce a case study on the project.
Two highly successful videos produced by White Hart for ASI Solutions, which showcased two revolutionary processes to rejuvenate road surfaces and repair potholes, have been translated into Spanish for a recent marketing visit to Madrid.
Finance Director Jerry Tong said “The key message is that our Spanish customers appreciated the effort we’d taken to translate the videos into their own language. The videos had a very positive impact.”
With interest for the processes coming from all over the world there has been an added bonus of their use in Spanish speaking Mexico. Who knows what languages we’ll be asking White Hart to add next year, said Jerry. www.asiplc.com
2008 marked the 50th anniversary of the break-up of Itton Estate, following the death of Lade Curre in 1956.
As part of the celebrations White Hart Director John Brooks has interviewed local residents old enough to remember the estate, the eccentric Lady Augusta Curre and the famous white hounds of the Curre Hunt, at that time the last privately owned pack in the country.
White Hart has produced a DVD as part of our commitment to the community in which we live and work. It contains photographs, articles and audio recordings celebrating the end of an era.
