There are two approaches to convert an English language programme into another language – subtitles or sound dubbing a new commentary over the original - either way you need to ensure the translation is accurate and contemporary which is why we only use agencies that have foreign nationals as translators and sub editors who are in the country itself.

English is a concise language and often the same sentences in another language use more words or take longer to say. Scripts therefore need to be paraphrased to fit or the edit needs to be extended.

There’s a selection of voice-over artists available who can record their commentary at White Hart or in hired studios near their base. An advantage of the recording being done at White Hart is that they can help the editor place the commentary accurately against relevant pictures.
